L’artista permette all’opera di esprimersi attraverso il parlare di luce, raccontata in diverse modalità alternative alla "classica" fotografia.
L’immagine fotografica, radiografica, il vetro, divengono materiali omogenei grazie ad un valore di tipo qualitativo dell’artista. Una fotografia non fotografia.
La fotografia: è convocazione e rappresentazione del mondo per via di puri differenziali luminosi, con tutto quanto essa comporta e ha comportato sul piano delle nostre strutture di visione, d'un canto, e su quello della stessa cultura artistica.
La radiografia, esemplare d'un livello mondano inattingibile per via di sensi, ma non perciò meno reale.
Il vetro, topico ormai, per consuetudine concettuale e operativa, del valore stesso di trasparenza e apparenza, riflesso.

In these works the language of expression allows the work to relive in different forms, in different ways, in a new existence. A new eternity.
The artist allows the work to express itself through the talk of light, told in different alternative ways to the "classic" photography.
The photographic, radiographic image, glass, become homogeneous materials thanks to a qualitative value of the artist. A photograph not a photograph.
Photography: it is summons and representation of the world through pure luminous differentials, with all that it entails and has entailed on the level of our structures of vision, on the one hand, and on that of the artistic culture itself.
The X-ray, an example of a worldly level unattainable through the senses, but no less real for that.

Marco Nereo Rotelli è nato a Venezia nel 1955, dove si è laureato in architettura nel 1982.
Da anni persegue una ricerca sulla luce e sulla dimensione poetica che Harald Szeemann ha definito come “un ampliamento del contesto artistico”.
Rotelli ha creato negli anni una interrelazione tra l’arte e le diverse discipline del sapere. Da qui il coinvolgimento nella sua ricerca di filosofi, musicisti, fotografi, registi, ma principalmente il suo rapporto è con la poesia che, con il tempo, è divenuta un riferimento costante per il suo lavoro.
Nel 2000 ha fondato il gruppo Art Project, oggi diretto da Elena Lombardi e composto da giovani artisti ed architetti, con il quale realizza numerosi interventi e progetti di installazione urbana.
Questo suo impegno gli è valso la partecipazione a nove edizioni della Biennale di Venezia, oltre a numerose mostre personali e collettive.
È stato invitato dalla Northwestern Unversity (Chicago) come artist-in residence (inverno 2013).
Le sue opere sono presenti in musei e importanti collezioni private di tutto il mondo.
Di lui hanno scritto alcuni tra i più importanti critici d’arte, oltre a poeti, scrittori, filosofi e personalità della cultura internazionale, alimentando un’importante raccolta bibliografica sul suo lavoro.
Marco Nereo Rotelli was born in Venice in 1955, where he graduated in architecture in 1982.
For years he has been following research on light and the poetic dimension that Harald Szeemann has defined as "an expansion of the artistic context".
Rotelli has created over the years an interrelationship between art and the various disciplines of knowledge. Hence the involvement in his research of philosophers, musicians, photographers, directors, but mainly his relationship is with poetry which, over time, has become a constant reference for his work.
In 2000 he founded the Art Project group, now directed by Elena Lombardi and made up of young artists and architects, with whom he carries out numerous interventions and urban installation projects.
This commitment of his earned him participation in nine editions of the Venice Biennale, as well as numerous solo and group exhibitions.
He was invited by Northwestern University (Chicago) as an artist in residence (winter 2013).
His works are present in museums and important private collections around the world.
Some of the most important art critics have written about him, as well as poets, writers, philosophers and personalities of international culture, fueling an important bibliographic collection on his work.
