The project on the concept of the "Word" is made up of four paintings, among these I have chosen the most significant one: Camera Oscura_Verba Volant. The picture is made up of two thoughts. “Camera Oscura”: an old process, now outdated by the digital age, of manually developing and bringing out images, philosophically creating a new form of reading out of nothing, giving life, light and concreteness to an apparently invisible concept. In the work the darkroom is represented by the red background which brings back the atmosphere of the "red light", by the stretched wire on which the photographic prints were hung with clothespins to dry. “Verba Volant”: flying words from an advertising page, worn-out words escaped from a poster exposed to the elements of nature, leaving a message devoid of its original meaning on a bare surface. The three images referring to the words are the result of a search on the "road" of posters, posters on walls, bins, bins ...
The main concept is the transformation of the word into an image.
The assimilation of words, the daily consideration of their use and their meaning pushes us to realize new ideas that we need to form and broaden our knowledge of life. Words require some time to identify a thought, the image has the ability to make the concept of the word immediately visible, to transform the linguistic unit made up of a set of sounds into a unit made up of signs.
Today there are different types of languages, a universe made up of emoticons, logos, tattoos, images that we must take into consideration to create a new relationship between word and image. The word is transformed into an image, an allegory, a metaphor, a new creative entity.
Il progetto sul concetto della “Parola” è composto da quattro quadri, tra questi ho scelto quello più significativo: Camera Oscura_Verba Volant.
Il quadro è composto da due pensieri.
“Camera Oscura”: un vecchio procedimento, ormai superato dall’era digitale, di sviluppare e fare emergere manualmente immagini, creando filosoficamente dal nulla una nuova forma di lettura, dando vita, luce e concretezza a un concetto apparentemente invisibile. Nell’opera la camera oscura è rappresentata dal fondo rosso che riporta l’atmosfera della “luce rossa”, dal filo teso su cui erano appese con mollette ad asciugare le stampe fotografiche. “Verba Volant”: parole di una pagina pubblicitaria che volano, parole logorate sfuggite da una locandina esposta alle intemperie della natura lasciando su una superficie scarnificata un messaggio privo del suo significato originario.
Le tre immagini riferite alle parole sono frutto di una ricerca su “strada” di locandine, manifesti su muri, cassonetti, bidoni…
Il concetto portante è la trasformazione della parola in una immagine.
L’assimilazione delle parole, la considerazione quotidiana del loro uso e del loro significato ci spinge a realizzare nuove idee di cui abbiamo necessità per formarci e allargare la nostra conoscenza della vita. Le parole richiedono un certo tempo per identificare un pensiero, l’immagine ha la capacità di rendere immediatamente visibile il concetto della parola, di trasformare l’unità linguistica costituita da un insieme di suoni in una unità costituita da segni.
Oggi ci sono diversi tipi di linguaggi, un universo fatto di emoticon, loghi, tatuaggi, immagini che dobbiamo prendere in considerazione per creare un nuovo rapporto tra parola e immagine. La parola si trasforma in un’immagine, in un’allegoria, in una metafora, in una nuova entità creativa.
