Una donna si spoglia e si abbandona lentamente ai movimenti rituali che conosce così bene.
Quattro immagini per catturare questa danza, lenta e ammaliante, intima e leggera. Non solo
guardare, ma anche accompagnare, dall'oscurità, con il proprio corpo, il corpo dell'altro e i suoi
movimenti segreti.
Verena Stenke, interprete del duo VestAndPage, si pone al centro di questo affresco meditativo e
trascendentale, dove il corpo si abbandona alle mutazioni impresse dal tempo, la trasformazione
dell'immagine si allea alla mutazione percepita nel profondo dei nostri esseri.

Four images to capture this dance, slow and mesmerising, intimate and subtle. Not only watching,
but also accompanying, from the darkness, with our own body, the body of the other, and its
secret movements.
Verena Stenke, performer of the duo VestAndPage, places herself at the centre of this meditative
and transcendental fresco, where the body abandons itself to the mutations imprinted by time,
the transformation of the image allies with the mutation perceived deep inside ourselves.

Il percorso di Claire Clelia Baldo è diviso tra Italia e Francia. Le sue prime esperienze sono condivise tra influenze romane e parigine. Si avvicina all'arte, all'architettura e al cinema già in tenera età. Durante gli anni di formazione, Claire Baldo affina la necessità di comprendere l'umanità, il valore del sogno e ciò che significa evadere intimamente da sé stessi.
Vivere divisi tra due mondi comporta sempre un certo grado di instabilità e solitudine, anche interiormente. L'artista guarda alla realtà con percezione, la ricompone sensibilmente e la trasforma in immagini, alla ricerca perpetua dell'attimo ideale in cui è possibile sostare per un po' e riconoscersi.
La precoce elaborazione di un linguaggio compositivo della realtà, insieme alla ricerca di un senso di appartenenza, alla preservazione e al richiamo delle esperienze passate, al loro inserimento nello spazio e nel tempo e alla loro incorporazione nell'immagine fotografica diventano quindi prova dell'urgenza di Claire Clelia Baldo: dare forma e pieno significato alla propria identità, affidandosi all'uso sistematico ma poetico del frammento.
La scelta dell'apparente astrazione delle forme, la ricerca incessante del movimento negli spazi del corpo catturato vicino alla sua essenza, rivelano una qualità del reale restituita attraverso un processo di transmutazione onirica. Come per un alchimista, il tempo è sempre il fattore chiave di questa trasmutazione.
Nella pratica fotografica di Claire Clelia Baldo, questo processo avviene attraverso la paziente costruzione di un alfabeto composto da linee e forme complesse meditate ed elaborate nel corso di un lungo periodo di tempo.
Ci sono influenze dal movimento pittorico simbolista, dall'arte delle stampe giapponesi e da universi cinematografici e poetici come quelli di Cocteau o Fellini.
Prima di laurearsi in Belle Arti presso l'Università di Parigi-VIII, Claire Clelia Baldo ha frequentato l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma e ha studiato arti performative presso il "Cours Florent" di Parigi. Si è specializzata in design grafico, materia che ha insegnato per diversi anni nella capitale francese. Ha perfezionato le sue competenze come grafica a Londra.
Nel 2016 si è trasferita a Venezia dove ha incontrato il fotografo Piero Viti con cui ha fondato LABOTIV.
Claire Clelia Baldo’s path is divided between Italy and France. Her first experiences are shared between Roman and Parisian influences. She approached art, architecture and cinema already at a very young age. In the years of her formative training, Claire Baldo sharpens the need to understand humanity, the value of the dream, what it means to evade intimately from the self.
To live split between two worlds always entails a certain grade of instability and solitude, even inwardly. The artist looks at reality perceptively, recomposes it sensitively and transcribes it outwardly in images, perpetually in search for that ideal moment where it’s possible to pause for a little while and recognise herself.
The early elaboration of a compositional language of reality, together with the search for a sense of belonging, preserving and recalling past experiences, placing them in space and time and then incorporating them into the photographic image, thus become evidence of Claire Clelia Baldo’s urgency: to give form and full meaning to her own identity, relying on the systematic but poetic use of the fragment.
The choice of the apparent abstraction of the forms, the incessant search for movement in the spaces of the body captured close to their essence, reveal a quality of the real returned through an oneiric transmutation process. As for an alchemist, time is always the key factor to this transmutation.
In Claire Clelia Baldo’s photographic practice, this process takes place through the patient construction of an alphabet made up of complex lines and shapes that have been meditated on and elaborated over a long period of time.
There are influences from the Symbolist painting movement, the art of Japanese prints and cinematic and poetic universes such as those of Cocteau or Fellini.
Before graduating in fine arts from the University of Paris-VIII, Claire Clelia Baldo attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and studied performing arts at the “Cours Florent” in Paris. She specialised in graphic design, a subject she taught for several years in the French capital. She perfected her skills as a graphic designer in London.
In 2016 she moved to Venice where she met the photographer Piero Viti with whom she founded LABOTIV.
