Tom Hoops was born on the south coast of England, in Bournemouth in the early 70s. He lives and works in London and in Bangkok.
Hoops ́ black and white photographies are unique. The way the photographer works and uses the light is astonishing. Tom Hoops was once described as the “Tarantino” of photography, as a result to the models he deliberately chooses for each of his shoots - “I am a photographer of people: good, bad, beautiful and ugly” - but no matter how the physiognomy of the person photographed actually is, Hoops always manages to amalgamate together in one shoot the beauty of poetry, determination, contrast, story and romance.
Among his commissions and clients one can find Schön Magazine, Var Magazine, Lavazza, Vogue, Reader ́s Digest, Tocco Toscano, Porter magazine, Hunger TV, Polydor Music, Fault Magazine, Unilever, Greyhours, FEI tv, TBWA, Kent, Label Magazine, Travel + Leisure, Red Magazine, Harpers Bazaar and Skin Deep.
